I'd Like Some Cheese with that Port

My chemo session has been changed from Thursday to Friday of this week. I'm told I'll need a "port" for ease of treatment. The port people are booked on Wednesday, but have an opening on Thursday. Since chemo warrants a day all to itself, it gets Friday. I don't know about you, but when I think of PORT, I think of cyrstal glasses and chunks of cheese. How could I be so wrong about this ??
"Cheers", I say, I'll be toasting you all tonight, with the real thing.

My kind of thinking entirely! Here's to a good glass of grapes! Humor is one of the keys to getting through this ordeal and you don't disappoint! Thanks for keeping us "abreast" of your latest trials and tribulations.

Kathy:

The blog is a great idea. You will be in our thoughts and prayers on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the weeks to come. Remember, a port is also a safe place that gives people protection from storms and rough water.

Kathy,
Getting a port is great. Trust me on this one. It will make infusions/injections so much easier.

I never thought of having port with my port. What a great idea!

I'm looking forward to seeing you next week, all ported up and ready to go.

Kathy, I love your version of port. Something delicious to be enjoyed after a fabulous meal. But yes, this is indeed a different kind of port. You are in my heart. You are in my thoughts. We love you very much.

Once you are through with the kind of port you have to have....can you have some of the other kind?
In England as a child I was always told that port was a good "ladies" drink......but really all the women in my family were drinking the good scotch and brandy when the men were not looking !
Kathy I love being kept up to date via the blog...and the waters in Kittery are already radiated, so no fear you can come here and fit right in ...

Man, I wish I thought of that. That puts a whole new perspective on things. Kathy, you are so far ahead of us. That's why I know you are going to get through this. I'll be raising my glass and thinking of you over the next couple of days.

Well, Girlfriend, this is it, the beginning of your most challenging adventure. You will be fabulous; you always are! We'll be right by your side every step of the way. Just keep thinking those positive thoughts. And, just in case you've forgotten, our picture is one taken from your Moana balcony overlooking Diamondhead. Think warm breezes, aquamarine surf, brown maitais and the green flash. As your port is opened let all our love flow through - mine, ours, and your entire extended fan club. The door is open; kick Igor out! xoxo
